of J2EE in several large- scale applications. He is an architect and developer (with usually 20/80 distribution)

the author of Real World Java EE Patterns—Rethinking Best Practices and Real World Java EE Night Hacks—Dissecting
the Business Tier. He participate in the JCP as an Expert Group member for the Java EE 6 and 7, EJB 3.X, JAX-RS,
CDI, and JPA 2.X JSRs. Adam is also a Java Champion, NetBeans Dream Team Founding Member, Oracle ACE Director,

Serverless computing and FaaS (Function as a Service) are hot! They radically change how software is organized, deployed, and charged. Fn project is an open-source project, which features a code-first approach to building polyglot applications on top of a FaaS platform and supports writing functions using various languages like Go, Java and Kotlin within the Functions Development Kit (FDK). The keynote discuss the different development phases (bootstrapping, local and remote deployment, testing ..) and the combination of fn project & functions with the GraalVM will be mentioned. Also the keynote address aspects such as functions orchestration. With the fn flow API, a distributed promise based API, it’s possible to compose multiple functions into meaningful applications.
David Delabassée works in the Serverless Developer Relations Team at Oracle where he is spending most of his time on the open source Fn Project. Prior to that, he was involved in Java EE 8 and its transition to the Eclipse Foundation as part of the Jakarta EE initiative. Over the years, David has championed Java extensively throughout the world, by presenting at conferences and user groups, large and small. He blogs at https://delabassee.com and has authored many technical articles for various publications.
Everybody is "agile" these days. But what started as an important counterbalance to exuberant software engineering processes has become an end in itself. We are "agile", because that is what "one does". Period! In this keynote, I would like to commit some "agile heresy" and tell you there is a world beyond agile. I will show you a world based on value and uncertainty where "agile" certainly has its place. But we will also discover a lot of other places where we need different approaches to succeed. And we will learn that post-agile world needs a more flexible thinking than just being "agile". But be warned: After this keynote you might feel a sudden urge to return to your company and start destroying some of the the agile idols and cargo cults that you ardously built in the last years ... ;)
Uwe Friedrichsen travels the IT world for many years. As CTO and fellow of codecentric AG he is always in search of innovative ideas and concepts. His current focus areas are (distributed) system design, deep learning and the IT of (the day after) tomorrow. Often, you can find him on conferences sharing his ideas, or as author of articles, blog posts, tweets and more.
